100th Day of School

On Tuesday, January 25, we celebrated the 100th day of school.  In the Yellow Pod, we had rotations and did several special activities.  The children found 100 Hershey kisses, made fruit loop necklaces, made glasses, watched 101 Dalmations, and made a book about the first 100 days of school. 

Our Holiday Program was Friday, December 10, 2010.

The children did a great job performing.



Flight to Hawaii

On Monday, November 22, the Yellow Pod traveled to Hawaii.  After many weeks of research, the students decided that traveling on an airplane would be the quickest and best mode of transportation to get to Hawaii.  We constructed an airport and learned about airport jobs.  Each student had to opportunity to be a passenger on the airplane and a worker in the airport.



Tailgate Day

On Wednesday, November 10th we celebrated our annual Tailgate Day.  We participated in fun rotations like: training camp, marching band, game day books, game day journals, a taste of AU traditions, dance team, cheerleading, and facepainting.  Auburn University football players, cheerleaders, and Aubie joined us for a pep rally.  We also enjoyed a tailgate lunch.  It was an exciting day!

Fall Rotations

On Friday October 29th, the Yellow Pod did Fall Rotations.  The children got to visit each teacher’s classroom in the Yellow Pod and did Fall activities.  In my classroom we watched It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and the children got their faces painted.  Mrs. Mims did a Halloween candy graph with the children.  They also painted small pumpkins with Mrs. Caldwell and played Pumpkin Bingo with Mrs. Griffies. In Mrs. Sartain’s classroom they made a spider cupcake and got to eat it.
